My favourite lecture the last year was ”The Origins of Heraldry and the Crusades”. I don’t think I totaly agree with dr Paul Fox, but I won’t know until I hear what he have to say.

Another very interesting lecture was “The John Brooke-Little Lecture Grants of Arms by ’Private’ Individuals in England and Wales c.1300-1450” by Dr Adrian Ailes.
I quote: ”During the Middle Ages, arms in England and Wales had not always been granted by heralds or by the sovereign; the earliest extant grant by an officer of arms dates to 1439. This paper examines the 33 known grants made between 1300 and 1450 by ‘private’ men and women, some of no more than local importance and significance.”
I would love to learn more about thoose grants.
